Yes, safety helmets are provided free of charge with all rentals. Scooter rentals include two helmets, while bicycle rentals include one. Please note that we do not provide locks and security chains.
No. There are no toll roads or paid highways anywhere in the Azores. Driving and parking on Pico Island are completely free.
Yes! You can rent baby seats and booster seats with us for only €5 per day each. We offer secure child safety seats to keep your little ones safe. Please request your baby seat rental during the online booking process to guarantee availability.
Yes. You can take our vehicles to neighboring islands for a one-time authorization fee of €10 (which activates cross-island insurance).
Important Terms:
The €10 fee does not include the boat ticket. You must buy ferry tickets for the passengers and the vehicle directly from Atlânticoline.
We do not have staff on Faial or São Jorge. In case of a breakdown or accident there, you must wait for the insurance tow truck.
You are entirely responsible for bringing the vehicle back to Pico Island before your rental ends.
Normal wear and tear is fine. However, if the vehicle is returned with abnormal dirt (excessive mud/sand inside, food or drink stains on the seats), a deep cleaning fee of up to €65 + VAT will apply.
Yes, for services outside standard operating hours:
From 18:15 to 20:00: Additional €10.
From 20:00 to 08:30: Additional €15.
No. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all vehicles. Under Portuguese Law (Lei n.º 37/2007, of August 14), smoking is banned in commercial and shared vehicles. Violations will result in severe penalties and professional smoke-sanitization fees.
Yes, we offer a 1-hour grace period, but you must notify us in advance. Unannounced delays or delays over 1 hour will result in an extra day's charge.
No. We offer unlimited kilometers (unlimited mileage) for all our cars, scooters, and bicycles, so you can explore Pico Island as much as you want without any extra fees.
Even with Super CDW, the following coverage exclusions apply:
Lost, broken, or water-damaged keys.
Undercarriage (under-the-car) damage. Driving off-road, on dirt tracks, gravel, or sidewalks is strictly prohibited.
Any damages resulting from driver negligence.
Any accidents or damages if the driver is found to be intoxicated or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Our insurance options and security deposits structure is broken down as follows:

If you provided your flight number when booking, we will monitor your flight in real-time and wait for you.
The minimum age is 18 years old. However, the following daily fees apply:
Young Driver Fee: Drivers aged 21 or under pay an additional €10 per day.
Inexperienced Driver Fee: Drivers who have held their license for 2 years or less (regardless of age) pay an additional €10 per day.
Our Glass & Wheels Protection is an optional coverage that completely exempts you from liability for any damage done to the vehicle's windows, tires, and alloy wheels during your rental.
Our policy is straightforward:
Free Cancellation: Up to 48 hours before your scheduled pick-up time.
Late Cancellation: Within 48 hours of pick-up, the 25% booking deposit is non-refundable.
Emergencies & Weather: If your flight/ferry is canceled due to weather, we will review it to provide a full refund.
Our Guarantee: If you cancel late, but we manage to re-rent the vehicle to someone else for those dates, we will refund your deposit in full.
We operate on a "Full-to-Full" policy. If the vehicle is not returned full, you will be charged for the missing fuel plus a €5 + VAT refueling fee.
According to Portuguese law:
50cc Scooters: A standard car license (Category B) is enough.
125cc Scooters: You must be at least 25 years old to drive a 125cc scooter with a standard car license (Category B). If you are under 25, you must hold a specific motorcycle license (Category A1 or A).
We accept Credit Cards or Debit Cards. Cash deposits are highly discouraged and only accepted under exceptional circumstances.
We provide 24/7 emergency assistance. You can call us or message us via WhatsApp at any time of the day or night, which also makes it easy to share your location if you need roadside help.
